Tall palms over the road into campus on a clear morning

About

Forty acres, tended slowly.

Desert Rose sits on forty acres of Sonoran Desert at the edge of Eloy, where the mountains show blue in the morning and the walls turn rose at dusk.

The campus is a small village of its own: rose-colored adobe buildings with bell niches and timber porches, courtyards shaded by mesquite and palms, a round gathering house under a timber dome, and a meeting hall built for a crowd.

It is an arts and agriculture place. Out past the casas there is a working farm with hoop houses and orchard rows, and the open desert beyond it is left as it is: creosote, ocotillo, and the long evening light.

The land is owned and cared for by DRBI, a nonprofit educational institute, which opens it to guests so it can be used and loved year-round.
